Staff

Our director, assistant director, teachers, and support staff are selected based on their qualifications and ability to meet our high standards of care and education. They provide an enriched enviornment that is both stimulating and enjoyable. Each caregiver considers it a privilege to be part of your child's development. All teachers and staff are CPR and First-Aid certified. Staff are fingerprinted and have a full criminal clearance prior to employment in our faciltiy. MNP staff meet all California State Licensing requirements.

Pearl Chavez, Director

Pearl is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University in Early Childhood
Education. She has been a part of our teaching team since 2004 and became our
Assistant Director in 2009 and in 2011 she became the
Director.

"I believe the first five years of a child's
life is a crucial time for a strong foundation both spiritually, cognitively,
emotionally, socially and physically. Because of this strong belief I will
nurture the child as a whole. I hope to create an environment where children
learn and develop by touching, hearing, tasting, seeing and using all their
senses as much as possible. I will encourage Christian morals and values. I
believe having a strong Christian foundation provided with an exploratory
environment will soon create a strong academic foundation. It's a child's "job"
to play. That is how they learn about their world around
them.

Ms Maritza, Assistant Director

Ms Maritza has been with MNP for since 1999. She has an Associates in Child Development and 24 years of teaching experience. She became our assistant director in 2011. She loves children and loves people. When you enter our office it's usually her beautiful smile that
you will see first. She is a great team player and hleps our school run smoothly.

She believes: "Every child is an individual whom God has granted gifts and abilities. Every child needs love and attention. They need to
feel valued and cared for."

Ms Trish, Break teacher/Office Asst.

Trish has been a part of the MNP team since 1999. She is a wonderful resource for both parents and staff. She is always willing to lend a hand wherever it is needed.

"All children should be given the opportunity to develop skills in a safe and nurturing environment. I believe they reach their own goals through play, positive reinforcement , socialization and guidance. By giving them the right tools, they will grow up strong and powerful."

Ms Donna, Infant/Toddler Coordinator, Turtles

Ms Donna has been a part of the MNP team 8 years. She has 13 years of
teaching experience. She is a wonderful caregiver and even requested at times.

"All children are different in their own way.
Each one deserves to be treated with lots of love and
respect."

Ms Yadira, Seals

Ms Yadira has been part of our team since 2008. She is a team player and is
always willing to work in other classrooms,when
needed.
"Children are children no matter what.
They learn and live their lives in their own little world. We have to lead them
as they grow and offer them love and care allowing them to become who they will."

Ms Julie, Seals

Ms Julie has been a part of our team for 8 years. She has 18 years of teaching experience. Ms Julie has worked with all age groups and enjoys them all.

"Children grow and develop in their own time. It is our job to identify the next step for each child and create an evironment to help them reach their potential."

Ms Monica, Seals

Ms Monica has been with MNP since 2008. She has 5 years teaching experience. She is a great caregiver and team player.

"Each child has a unique personality which dictates a different approach in learning and discipline as they grow. Love and caring is something all children need and through trust and security a healthy relationship will grow."

Ms Angelica, Turtles

Ms Angelica has been with MNP since 2010. This is her first teaching experience and under the guidance of Ms. Maritza she has flourished as a teacher.

"Every child holds their own unique characteristics, emotions and abilities. I believe it is important to involve the process of learning with a close relationship between teacher and child to provide the child with love. We can provide an atmosphere to help the development of the whole child."

Ms Jaclynn, Seals

Ms Jaclynn is one of our newest additions. She is new to teaching and has been a
great asset to our program.

"Every child
deserves to grow, learn and be respected as an individual. Through providing a
warm, loving and safe environment. children are our future. We should do nothing
to hold them back from all their potential of greatness."

Ms Denise has been a part of our team since 2006.

"Love, teach an respect our little ones. They are our future. What we instill in them today will reflect later in life. It's important to lead, teach and guide them in a positive way. Children brains are like a pot with a lid. The more you place in the pot, the more they take and soak in. Their brains take in everything. Once the lid is placed on the pot all the knowledge is captured."

Ms Maria has been a part of the MNP team since 2003. Maria has 19 years of teaching experience. She is a warm and friendly face for the two year olds every morning.

"I believe in providing a rich and diverse curriculum in which children will explore, learn and be challenged in every area of development. With guidance, they will gain self confidence with every achievement and build a sincere and trusting relationship with their families."

Ms Lili, Floater

Ms Lili has been with MNP for 3 1/2 years. She has 10 years teaching experience. Her patience and funny personality makes her a great asset to our school.

"Children are all different, unique and a blessing from up above. I find it amazing how such a little person can know so much and learn so quickly."

Ms Leslie has been at MNP since 2001. She has 24 years teaching experience. She loves working with our 3 year olds.

"Make learning fun and children will be eager to learn. You receive what you give. If a child has a strong foundation early in life, the rest is simply reinforcing it."

Ms Vicky, Sharks

Ms Vicky has been a part of the MNP team since 2008. She has 7 years of teaching experience. She is a wonderful pre-k teacher with a lot to offer.

"Children can learn through fun activities and it is up to us to create those experiences. We need to create curriculum applicable to their lives and reinforce continuous learning."

Ms Jessica, Dolphins

Ms Jessica has been with MNP since 2009. She is a first time teacher, but a natural. She is a pleasure to work with and admired by all staff and children.

"I believe it is important to provide structure so children feel safe to explore. I think it is crucial to stimulate a child's senses to encourage curiosity and discovery. I beleive in allowing a child he freedom to explore what may be of interest to them and encouraging independence. I believe in making learning FUN."
